The Midwest Justice for Children Conference began in an effort to provide quality training, at an affordable price, to other Child Advocacy Center staff, members of the Multi-Disciplinary Team including members law enforcement, juvenile justice workers, mental health therapists, Children's Division workers, Prosecuting Attorney's, child and family advocacy workers, school counselors, forensic interviewers, and other professionals working in the field of human services.
In 2018, we are offering a One-Day Workshop event focused on the relevant topic of Problematic Sexual Behavior (PSB). Nationally recognized speaker, Jane F. Silovsky, Ph.D. will present at the morning session on "Understanding Typical Sexual Development and Problematic Sexual Behaviors". The lunch speaker, Jimmy Widdifield, Jr, LPC will speak on the topic of "Origins, Risks, and Protective Factors of Problematic Sexual Behavior of Youth", and the afternoon session presented by Laura Kaehler, Ph.D. with the University of Missouri - St. Louis is "Hope and Healing: PSB Treatment in Missouri".
